Thanksgiving in October? Yes, what Americans know as Columbus/Indigenous People's Day, Canadians know as their day of giving thanks. Why a month earlier? Because it's cold in Canada and they harvest earlier. But mainly because they like to invent things that Americans can claim for themselves. Like how they invented basketball. And Justin Bieber. And trade wars.

Fun fact: the first Canadian Thanksgiving celebration happened in 1578, which was 43 years before the famous 1621 Plymouth harvest feast that inspired American Thanksgiving.
